Some years ago, I was part of a leadership team seeking to plan a national conference. “The” big question was – “What well known speaker can we get for our conference?” This was necessary because we knew that people would only show up if someone “famous” was the main speaker. LK10 is pioneering a whole different way of thinking about conferences and retreats.
As more and more people are becoming practitioners of our two “rhythms of attention”, how we think about larger gatherings is changing. The motivation for attending is shifting from being taught by a “great” speaker who has “great content”. (Although there is certainly still a place for good teaching.) The new motivation is the great joy of connecting deeply with new friends. (“Checking in” helps with this.) And, of listening together for the voice of Jesus. This is a whole different way of thinking about conferences and retreats!
Here are some people sharing what they have experienced. Notice that they not only talk about what they experienced but that they were also immediately able to implement what they learned in another country…
- Tony Dale experienced our conference and took what he learned to Myanmar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_PwH9Jtm8A
- Paul Harrigan experienced our conference and took what he learned to France. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9quTs7dw8aA
- Scott Galbraith experienced our conference and took what he learned to Belgium https://www.lk10.dev.cc/lk10-belgium/
Our sense has been not to have a Labor Day Conference in 2015 but rather to focus this year on regional gatherings. See below for what these were like in California and Colorado (and one is being planned for Texas). These gatherings are very simple to put on. Great speakers and fancy venues are not required. And, yet, God shows up in amazing ways. I believe in the future we will see these gatherings (one day or longer) multiply in many regions. Ask the Lord if this is something he wants to do in your area. And, let us know so we can share it with the whole LK10 Community.
Fasting Prayer Mountain Retreat (South of San Jose, CA) 3/28/15
Report from Mina Millen: “We had another amazin
g time up at Fasting prayer mountain with about 15 of us. If you weren’t able to join us, we hope you can attend next time. May 30th, August 29th, Oct. 24th. It was a refreshing time and rich with fellowship as we listening to each others hearts, prophesied, prayed, and then went treasure hunting (5 groups) in the afternoon.
Another big highlight was having Vilma (our treasure from two years ago) join us on her first Treasure Hunt. Let’s just say Vilma is on FIRE!!! She had such a powerful time treasure hunting and sharing her own testimony about being treasure hunted with three gals (treasures) at the coffee shop! Lots of tears of joy. (Treasure hunting is a way of evangelism that grows from listening to God. For more on this, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm9K_h3mnQc )
Special thanks to John Parker and for driving up from Merced area and activating us in pray declarations and leading such interesting Simple Church topics. I continue to be amazed at God’s hand in our time and the vulnerability of each person. To me, it’s everything I ever dreamed church community would be. We hope you can join us next time.
Praise the Lord,

Colorado Easter Celebration (Castle Rock, Colorado) 4/4/15
Invi
tation from Al Paradise: Greetings to each of you. The house church movement is growing and we are excited to hear what God is doing in different communities. Sean Hyatt and I have been praying and listening to Jesus about a corporate gathering on a periodic basis. The purpose of this gathering is for us to experience the movement together and see what God is doing with and through other house churches along the front range. This gathering is hosted by the LK10 house church community in Colorado Springs and Denver, and open to any house/simple/organic church people, groups, or leaders in and around the greater front range areas. (JW: About 35 people actually attended this gathering.)
We would love to have all of you join us for a time of worship, prayer, communion, ministry, teaching, and listening to Jesus together and see what He has in store for us. If you play an instrument bring it with you and be ready for the Holy Spirit to lead us in worship. We want this time to be spontaneous, organic, simple and honoring to our Heavenly Father.
Next Gathering on June 7 in Castle Rock. Email Al for information: freedom1949@gmail.com
