I’m still pumped about the meeting of the Denver Network (about 25 people) last Friday night at Denver Seminary. The Network is made up of house church leaders and others who have a heart for reaching our city. We’ve been meeting monthly for about two years now. This group has embraced the “church of two” concept and there are well over 50 CO2s functioning in Denver. What was particularly exciting about our meeting last Friday was to see how effective the same two spiritual disciplines (SASHET and VIRKLER) are on this city or regional level. Hugh Brandt facilitated the meeting and after dinner we split into three (west, east and north) groups. Each group “checked” in with each other using SASHET. Then, we spend time individually listening to God about this question: “What do You want to say to us about the city of Denver?” Individuals shared what they heard in their groups. Then, we all came back together and shared what we had heard. Out of this emerged a powerful prophetic message about our city.
The point? The two spiritual disciplines (SASHET and VIRKLER) work well with two people (CO2). They also work well with a house church. And, they work well with a city-wide group.
