Board of Directors

Kent Smith

Board President

Kent grew up around the Midwest in a church planting family. Questions that began to be forged in a Chicago high school have persisted through his life and work, like, “How can Americans actually enter the sane and joyful life promised by Jesus?” In quest of answers, college studies led him from Nebraska to Arkansas to Tennessee and finally to doctoral work on Spiritual Nurture Systems at the University of Dubuque. Along the way he planted, staffed and preached for a number of churches. In 1991 Kent joined the faculty of Abilene Christian University and became ACU’s Missions Coordinator for North America. Along with his teaching, since 2004 he has been the founding director of ACU’s graduate internship in missional living, the Missionary Residency for North America (MRNA). In 2008 he co-founded LK10 with John White. Kent and his wife Karen have five children and seven grandchildren. They enjoy gardening, writing, research, travel and their shared work of coaching graduate students and consulting with new Kingdom initiatives across North America.

She spends her time as a wife and homeschool mom and plants small "listening groups" as opportunities open. Well received at conferences, her passion is to make listening disciples, grow leaders and launch people into their God given destiny. Her motto: Listen, Obey and Give it Away!
