How to Start a House Church

A CO2 (Church of Two) can become the nucleus or first step in starting a larger house church or simple church. Start meeting with just two people and then add more as the Lord leads. So, the CO2 is a key for church planting.

What’s the smallest number of people you can have for a church?  The obvious answer is two.  Jesus said that whenever two or three met in His name, He would be present.  (Mt 18).  This could be called a “church of two” or a CO2.  This simple concept has profound implications in at least several ways.

1.  A CO2 can become the nucleus or first step in starting a larger house church or simple church.  Start meeting with just two people and then add more as the Lord leads.  So, the CO2 is a key for church planting.

2.  A CO2 can become the basic building block of all larger expressions of church.  So, a house church made up of several CO2s becomes stronger and healthier because of these pairs meeting daily through the week.

3.  A CO2 made up of husband and wife greatly strengthens a family.

The CO2 is foundational to the LK10 Community.  To learn more, watch the video below and sign up (on the home page) for our Church 101 Course.
