How starfish help us see God’s vision for multiplication

The Lord moved us into the house church world in 1998.  Early on, we had very little idea of what we were doing and there were few resources available.  About a year later, the Lord put us in contact with a book called Houses that Change the World by Wolfgang Simson.  I can’t tell you how crucial that book was for us at that point. Finally, someone who knew something about house churches!  Over the years, I came to know Wolf.  We saw him at various conferences and he stayed with us when he visited Denver.  I was able to tell him how much we appreciated him and his teaching.

Recently, I was watching a video that Wolf had made a few years ago that is so important that I’m asking everyone in Leader 101 to watch it.  (I hope those who aren’t in Leader 101 will watch it also!)  The video is about 30 minutes long but I feel certain it will be a transformational experience for you.

In Leader 101, we encourage everyone to ask the Lord for a “crazy goal” for their particular city or state or country. This is a prayer goal for the number of “vibrant families of Jesus” necessary for there to be one in easy access of every person in the region or people group that the Lord has called you to.  It’s a “crazy goal” because it is so big that only God could bring it to pass.  Our Leader Teams (which are a key part of Leader 101) meet at least twice a month (usually in a Google hangout).  And, in every meeting, everyone shares their “crazy goal” and any 10:2b answers they have seen.  (The 10:2b Prayer is key to seeing this kind of multiplication!)

What if we are on the verge of the greatest harvest in history?

Wolf’s video is important because it will help you see how big God’s vision is for the multiplication of these vibrant families of Jesus in our day.  And, it will build your confidence about the process of multiplication that God has in mind (think “starfish”!).  Take a look.  (Personally, I’ve watched this video  five times so far so I can wrap my brain around what he is saying.)
