Dear
LK10 Family,
Believe
it or not, there is a deep passion resonating in the hearts of many
of my fellow GenXers. Despite all our jadedness, our "Whatever"
mentality, and our stubborn independence, many of us are looking for
deep relational and spiritual nurture. We are, in many ways, a
generation without fathers, and nothing could be more dangerous when
seeking to truly live as Light in the Darkness. As a church planter
and social entrepreneur in New York City, my tooth-and-nail road to
bring the Kingdom into the lives of others has had real dangers to my
mind, body, and soul. If it hadn't been for a few friends who walked
with me, there wouldn't me much left of me or the baby simple
churches with whom I labor. John White has been one of those
friends.
I
am not alone in saying that God has redeemed and refreshed my life
through John's work. The more people I meet in simple church and
church planting circles, the more stories I hear of how people have
been served by John in ways that will continue to yield fruit. He
has done this in two key ways: First, he has worked for years to
facilitate rich community among people who are living out the mission
of God. Rightfully, there is one Father, Master, and Teacher of any
legitimate Gospel revolution, and we connect to Him when "two or
more are gathered". John's quiet facilitation of non-expert
learning community has allowed for me and many others to hear
directly from God and be equipped by him.
Second,
John coaches emerging leaders like me. The next generation of
simple church planters are here, and they are hungry for insight,
direction, and someone to build them into maturity. I know several
young church planters who God has rescued from amazingly lost places.
They are passionate about God, but susceptible to attack.
I
am one of them. John has been a steady presence, coaching us along
the path while making sure we are dependent on our Father alone.
It's
hard for me to calculate the value John has brought to my family,
ministry, business, and inner life in the few years I've know him.
But because I've experienced this and know many others have as well,
I'm determined to share all good things with him (Gal 6:6). When I
heard John wanted to build a website to continue to serve church
planters, my web development company donated a complete social
networking site and consulting support. LK10.com is a perfect
example in how sowing into good soil like John reaps many times more
harvest. Now more than 300 church planters are connected to this
same life-supporting community and passing on the grace they receive
there to simple church networks all over the world.
Please
join me in supporting John, his family and this community. John's
vision and needs are simple, but the results in changed lives,
Gospel-expansion, and rich fellowship are extraordinary.
Every
Blessing,
Ben
